American Leather – Furniture Upholstering In The Usa
American leather is a rather loose term used to describe manufacturers of leather furniture based within and making leather upholstery furniture in the United States. It also could describe tanneries within the United States that process hides. In this article we'll examine some of the process of tanning leather hides and the role of American leather manufacturers within this industry. We'll also look at the relationship between American leather upholstery furniture manufacturers and tanneries from around the world.
Leather furniture has long been an established category of furniture since early leather tanneries processed hides for use in clothing, chair seating and other furniture applications. Upholstering leather to sofa frames has been well documented by European, Middle Eastern and Asian tanners and craftsmen over the centuries and leather hides have proven to be highly resistant to wear which makes them an excellent choice for uses in furniture. The nature of leather and that no two hides are identical makes them much sought after as each piece of leather furniture will be unique unto itself.
The process of tanning leather hides has indeed been around since ancient times when using such items as bark, wood, roots or berries would facilitate the tanning process. This allows water and moisture to be removed from the hide and makes the hide fibers in the skin tough and cements them together. Current tanneries make use of mineral tanning as well as other approaches in modern facilities where some of the techniques are similar but using new methods and applications for tanning. Desired finishes range from the hide being waxed, rolled, lubricated with oil or of course dyed.
There are of course manufacturers within the United States that make and produce American leather furniture. What is unique about these manufacturers is that they use American wood and materials to build their sofas, loveseats, chairs, recliners and sectional frames but source the leather hides from tanneries found throughout the world. They bring together old world tanneries and leather with modern frame designs and styles for a perfect blend of leather and frames. There are also American tanneries that process leather hides.
Omnia Leather, a furniture manufacturer in Chino, California offers over a dozen different types of leather grades. These include some that still feature hair on the hide as well as waxed leather. Also offered are a selection of dyed leathers in various hide grades are available as well from this manufacturer.
American Leather is the name of another US manufacturer who offer a line of sofa sleepers in addition to sofas, chairs, loveseats and sectionals. This manufacturer also offers various grades of leather hides sourced from around the world. They offer a selection of leathers from Elmo, which is among the oldest operating tanneries in Europe. American Leather manufacturers their furniture in Dallas, Texas.
In this article we've discussed American Leather as a broad term for both manufacturers of leather furniture and tanneries that operate within the United States. Leather furniture has taken on an important role as a category of furniture. Discussed was the process of tanning leather hides which has evolved from using simple materials such as bark, wood, roots and berries to taking modern approaches which include minerals and other techniques. Manufacturers in the United States producing American leather furniture offer a combination of domestic made frames with leather hides from all over the world from some of the oldest tanneries still in operation today.

Could you help me find a nice pair of pants for men?
I'm trying to find a pair of men's pants that aren't jeans. I think they're called chinos, however, I'm looking for a pair that's sturdy and thick, with no creases, and somewhat tight fitting like Levis 511's. I'm 18 so I'm not looking something quite for white-collar working class people. Just casual. I heard Dickie's were good but I'm unsure. Any advice on what brand is good and what kind of store to buy them (I usually shop around Irvine) would be extremely helpful. Looking for two pairs, dark blue and a tan color. I'm not very fashion savvy, but I would prefer not to look like an idiot.
Thanks!
Simple pants that aren't jeans, just go for cargo pants.
Jeans from Diesel or Hugo Boss will look really good.
You should check it out.
Good luck
