The Hudson Blues Band is a five-piece, Chicago-Texas-style blues band. The band consists of vocals, harmonica, two guitars, bass and drums in the classic Chicago tradition.

All songs are selected for maximum dance-ability and energy, and readily lend themselves to a party atmosphere.

The Hudson Blues Band has been re-booked in every club we have played. We have a substantial mailing list to ensure a credible following wherever we go, and we also advertise our play dates and locations. We welcome the opportunity to play in new venues and develop long-lasting professional relationships. We also do private parties, festivals and the like.

Biographical Information

MICHAEL WILDE
Vocalist, harmonica player and all-around funky front man, Michael is a veteran of the New York, Chicago and Los Angeles music scenes. He wasn't born with the last name of Wilde, he earned it! He's an outstanding showman whose harp playing and vocal stylings are sure to get folks movin' and groovin'.

SAM "BROWN SUGAR" PEMBERTON
A native of Texas, Sam’s been playing the Blues guitar for 20 plus years. Don’t let his calm demeanor fool you, inside he’s a maniac for the blues (it’s always the quiet ones). Sam comes by his nickname honestly, because his playing is as sweet and soulful as it gets. He is heavily influenced by artists such as the late Freddie King, and like a fine wine, Sam’s playing gets better with age.

GREG "THE KID" SMITH
Greg developed his fiery guitar slingin' style while growing up in Southern California. He's a fast talkin', slow walkin' guitar desperado. He's often been heard to say, "The two things I love most in this world are my family and my guitar. When you got that, baby, you got it all!"

TONY SCHMIDT
Tony's the bass guitarist. Tony's been part of the Seattle music scene for nearly twenty years. His musical influences and experience are varied, but he always keeps coming back to the Blues. "It's the root," he's been known to say. Tony is funky as you wanna be, and always can be counted on to provide a strong solid bottom end for the band (and his bass playing ain't half bad, either). He also provides back up vocals and doubles on trombone -- now that's talent!

DAVID HUDSON
David's drum career began in that unpretentious, humble metropolis known as Las Vegas. "I didn't even know what a river was until I moved out of the desert." He fled the Vegas scene about ten years ago (under questionable circumstances) and relocated with his family to Seattle (gambling debts, what gambling debts?). He's also a high roller on the drums, and man, can that boy boogie!
